In the Know Inc. is a recognized non-profit organization with a 501(c) 3 status in Illinois. Founded in 2022 by Georgina (Gina) Menyah, In The Know aims to tackle cancer inequalities prevalent in underserved communities of color in Illinois.
Our motto, When You Know More You Do Better, has been our guide since the beginning! According to the American Cancer Society, African-Americans have the highest death rate and shortest survival time for most cancers of any racial or ethnic group in the nation. We are committed to helping change the cancer statistics here in Illinois.
Driven to create positive change, our organization is embarking on a mission to bridge the information gap and ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, has access to life-saving cancer education. We understand the importance of collaboration and seek partnerships with local churches, community leaders, and institutions to maximize our impact.
As the organization looks toward the future, our unwavering commitment to improving cancer education and support within underserved communities and communities of color remains steadfast. With each partnership, workshop, and community engagement opportunity, we strive to empower individuals, reduce health disparities, and create a more equitable landscape of cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship in Illinois and the United States.
At In The Know, Inc., our focus is educating and empowering under-resourced communities of color. We offer a range of resources, including wellness support, educational programs (both virtual and in-person), mentorship, and advocacy for policies that benefit these communities.
